Appendix to the Report on the Health of the Troops Forming the Vitakri Field Force

HEALTH OP THE TROOPS FORMING THE VITAKRI FIELD FORCE. By Surgeon H. J. Yeld, 15th Bengal Cavalry. The report on the health of the Vitakri Field Force, which appeared in the January number of the Indian Medical Gazette, showed the sickness amongst the troops to the end of July only. The months of August, Sep tember and October showed an increasing rate of sickness, and the following figures have been compiled with a view of rendering the previous report more complete. On the 1st August the total sick in hospital amounted to 170 ; on the 2utli to 166 ; on the 1st of September it had risen to 208 ; on the 15th to 362 ; on the 30tli to 449, and to upwards of 700 on the 2Ctli of October, after which date a large number of sick were withdrawn to Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan. The following table shows the increasing monthly rate of total admissions in the various Corps, for the period between the 1st of April and the 30th September
